African Wild Dog - Lycaon pictus

A tricolored dog that lives in packs. A lean, long-legged canid built for speed and endurance. Former range included Northern and Southern Savanna and adjacent arid zones. Persecution, disease, and reduction of wildlife habitats and populations have caused an alarming decline in wild dog numbers, raising fears that one of Africa's most interesting animals could soon become extinct.
